If you suffer from hay-fever or are particularly prone to air-bourne allergies then the Pollen Filter in your car plays a major role in combating this. The Pollen Filter is in essence an air filter, similar to what you would have in your car engine. It is normally fitted in the bulkhead of your vehicle but some can be fitted inside the vehicle behind the glove box. The pollen filter does not filter smells. This is done by re-circulating the cars air and not ventilating through the pollen filter from the exterior at all. The pollen filter should be changed at regular intervals. This is normally at the vehicles normal servicing schedule. Today's pollen filters are much larger in size than the early types introduced in the late eighties and are far more efficient in their job.
